Frequently Asked Questions
Q. When are Search Credits spent?
A. The credits are spent only after you click on the Submit button on the
Fetch Resumes page. The cost is one credit for each Job Seeker that is in your
Matching Job Seeker List. If you have refined the initial list, only the number on
the refined list is deducted from your credits.
Q. Are Search Credits used when refining the search criteria?
A. No. You can refine as much as you like at no cost.
Q. Can I buy more Search Credits?
A. Yes. You can buy them in increments of 100 credits. Send your request to
purchase@pacificnwtech.org. (Current Pricing)
Q. What Job Seeker information do I see when I use this search tool?
A. You are provided with the following for each Job Seeker: (1) Degrees, (2)
Years of Experience, (3) Last three employers, (4) Top positions desired, (5)
Citizen
sponsorship requirements if any. This information helps you to determine if
you have adequately refined your search.
Q. When refining the Matching List, what skills do I choose from?
A. You choose the skills from the Job Category(s) that you chose. It is best to
choose just 1-3 skills to begin with and then add additonal skills as needed to get
the refined Matching List to a manageable size.
Q. How much should I refine the search by choosing required skills?
A. Because of the response rate and the desire not to Spam the Job Seekers, it is
suggested that you refine to get a list of between 5 to 75 Job Seekers before
clicking on the Fetch Resumes button.
Q. What if no Job Seekers match all of the position's required skills?
A. While the matching Job Seekers may not have exactly what you are looking
for, they frequently have friends that match your criteria more closely. You should
loosen your criteria and then include a note in the Job Description that
encourages them to send the position on to their friends.
Q. What do the Job Seekers receive when I Fetch Resumes?
A. They receive both your brief job summary, job description, company name,
e-mail address and a short note from PacificNWTech directing them to include the name PacificNWTech in the subject heading.
Q. What is the typical response rate when fetching resumes?
A. Approximately 10-30% of Job Seekers respond by sending their resumes.
Q. How do I know that the Job Seekers on the Matching List are looking for a job?
A. Job Seekers can update their e-mail contact preferences at any time so that
they only receive e-mail from potential employers when they are looking. Since
over
half of the Job Seekers currently are employed, but are looking for
something more
challenging and rewarding, they overwhelming respond favorably
to interested
employers.
Q. Why can't I see the names of the Job Seekers in the Matching List?
A. Because the majority of Job Seekers are currently employed, they do not want
their current employer learning that they are looking. When Job Seekers respond
to you, their name and e-mail address will be provided to you.
